Mick,

The bike is deffinitely a Hetchins Mixte. I have one vey simular to this one. Mine came thru Spence Wolf in 1968 with the same der. and crankset. My lugs are not quite the same as the pictured frame, but as far as I know there are only 4 known Hetchins Mixtes, all from this period. It may be that only Spence ordered them and had them built. Until today, I only knew of the 3 mixtes, this is a great find! This one is the best looking of the 4 known bikes as far as the details and the paintwork. One of the others I repainted in pearl sea green and pearl pastel pink, many years ago. Jimmy Thomson and I both have one color Ivory bikes. This one is super!

On a second look the fork crown extension looks Magnum Opus. The VM111 also used this as a seat stay extension but the head lugs look nothing like the Magnum Opus pattern I know. Come on you Hetchins Buffs what is it?

Best wishes and be lucky. Michael Butler Huntingdon UK.
