Pete,

Are there any photos of the "other" one? Is it like the one that just turned up in style and period? So far we count 4 older mixtes made around 1968 or there abouts. We think maybe all of them came thru Spence Wolf. Any chance of getting the serial number of Lens' wifes' bike? Also lots of photos? If she has another, the total would be 5.

I had a call from Jimmy Thomson this evening, and he told me that his bike is the same as the new one, except the paint is plain as opposed to two tone. The offset color gives the bike a lot more character. So it seems that my bike may be the first one and isn't as fancy as the other 3 known frames. Also, the 3 later frames seem to have the painted "H" on the head tube, mine has the "flat badge". I'm now very curious about the Len Ingram older bike.

My lugs are not quite the same as the pictured frame, but as far as I know there are only 4 known Hetchins Mixtes, all from this period. It may be that only Spence ordered them and had them built. Until today, I only knew of the 3 mixtes, this is a great find! This one is the best looking of the 4 known bikes as far as the details and the paintwork. One of the others I repainted in pearl sea green and pearl pastel pink, many years ago. Jimmy Thomson and I both have one color Ivory bikes. This one is super!
