That is not quite right. The oldest Campagnolo drawings that I have seen of the Cambio Corsa all had either 2 cog or 3 cog freewheels. It likely wasn't until the second decade of life of the gear that most bikes using it were fitted out with 4 blocks. The dropouts are however not long enough to safely handle most five blocks. I have been told that this is why the Paris-Roubaix dropouts had 2 added teeth.
