Steve Kim asked,

<< This may be a long shot but I am wondering if anyone has dustcaps to the Mavic SSC crankset......... >>

Jerry Moos responded,

I think the SSC cranks used unmarked aluminum caps with a hex wrench hole.

And Steven Maasland added,

Jerry Moos was correct in describing these as smooth alloy caps with a hole for a (5 mm) allen key. My perhaps more pertinent question is why even worry about the caps? They serve no purpose, and if you look at any period photos of the top racers, you will see that they all removed them. IMO, a bike without the caps is therefore just as authentic as one with them.

My reply: I had a complete SSC crankset and it did have dustcaps the same color as the rings (whatever that "brownish" SSC color was?) and the caps had "SSC" on them. However, I do agree with Steven's question about "why use them?" since at best they are just for appearance, and at worst, they can become quite seriously stuck and present a bit of an obstacle to remove, especially the alloy ones wi th the hex opening (Stronglight; TA; Nervar; Mavic).
