Neat show, nice people.

Buck, Wayne and Jim do a GREAT job.

I've loaded a few pictures up at: http://community.webshots.com/user/aphillips9 in the Atlanta/Southlands Classic Show album. Yes lots of Stingrays, but I was busily reliving my childhood and wishing my 1973, metallic green coaster brake Stingray was still around. I saw enough grownups riding them to be convinced that I wouldn't look too silly pedaling mine around. I also found the 1979 Schwinn Catalog which had my precious Schwinn World (not the 1973 I'm restoring) in it. That was my first road bike ever and retailed for 139.99, steel wheels and all!

I didn't take near enough pics, not feeling 100% yesterday, but the gentleman who had a table next to Nick and David's table, Danny Lay (who just happens to be the uncle of Lee, one of mechanics at the shop I work at) had a number of reasonably priced vintage frames and bikes for sale, and a ton of cool vintage parts, some NOS in boxes.

For those of you in the North East who might be a bit chilly up there this morning and are looking forward to a nice warm day in the lower 50s - it's Spring and lovely here in Atlanta. As usual for this time of year, somewhere in the mid/upper 60s, lower 70s. The flowers are blooming, the sky is blue and the smog has yet to gather.

So perhaps next year in March, you might consider loading up a few of your favorite vintage lightweights and things you might want to sell or trade and come for a weekend of pleasant riding and a friendly bit of trading and showing? Ride on Saturday, show on Sunday? Lodging is cheap and plentiful in Marietta, lots of local yummy Southern food, you can come and get your picture taken under the Big Chicken. Don't let all of us win all the prizes, come on and give us some competition!
