Working in a shop for 8 years, I certainly saw my share of blown through cable housing from people who used SIS housing for their brake cables.

I don't think anyone went down, because they still had their other brake, but a couple of them definitely said it was enough to put the fear of God/Goddess/Dog/Buddha/SBOYC® into them.
