I think there is a lot of hyperbole here. These gears were show cased on $100 to $150 bike boom Italian bicycles. I doubt seriously that ANY pro racers used these, as the auction claims. The pro teams at that time were pretty thoroughly Campagnolo when it came to rear derailleurs (read the auction description). Despite what Ron Kitching said in his catalogue, at most this gear was used only by people who could not or would not afford Campagnolo. The illustration of the gear in the Kitching catalogue (page 25 in my copy) shows the gear, with a clip, attached to a stamped drop out. At best, this is a sleeper part that
MAY work well.
