To the US frames typically cost about $120 in a double skinned box but can be sent more cheaply about $100 (single skinned box and surface mail if required). GILLOTT FLEUR DE LYS TAPER TUBE 25in (ctt) FRAME from 1954 with 22 3/4in (ctt) top tube. It has just been very tastefully re-enamelled by Argos Cycles in a flam blue colour with off white head and seat tube panels and complete with the correct transfers. Taper tube Gillott frames are very rare - ones with Fleur De Lys lugwork even more so. $945
GRANDINI FANCY LUG FRAME 1960s 23in (ctt) and with a 22 1/2in (ctc) top
tube. It is 120mm across the rear ends. The lovely lugs have been
beautifully filed and profiled - Grandini was a name used by Youngs of
Lewisham in south-east London. Their top frames were built by Bill Philbrook
- this one I am certain was Bill¹s work - it is quite exquisite - look at
the reinforcement behind the seat lug. Bill Philbrook also built under his
own name and was one of the top British framebuilders of the 1960s ranking
alongside Bill Hurlow. It has just been refinished in gunmetal grey with an
off-white head tube and gold lined. $425

GEM HANDLEBAR TAPE original box with four rolls of blue Gem plastic handlebar tape from the 1950s. $20
CINELLI TRACK BARS AND STEM - the bars are engraved and 40cm wide ctc; the stem is 9cm long. The chrome on the stem is excellent but has has an incorrect allen expander bolt. The bars need to be rechromed - there is some flaking to the chrome but the engraving is clear and should rechrome well. $95
RALEIGH HEADSET NOS practically perfect condition Raleigh (26tpi) headset to fit most pre-1985 Raleighs except for the top and middle end road bikes. $30

MILLER FRONT DYNAMO LIGHT lovely dynamo light made in Britain from the 1950s with twin bulbs and stand-by battery. The type of battery used or stand-by light is now obsolete but other types can be adapted. There is a very small dent and slightly larger scratch to the rear of the light but the chrome plating is otherwise excellent and neither the scratch or dent are obtrusive $20
CAMPAGNOLO RECORD PEDALS excellent pair which probably date from the 1970s and show a small amount of wear to the cage plates; the dustcaps are totally unmarked and the chrome is excellent $65
CHRISTOPHE SPECIAL TOECLIPS excellent pair with the earlier style logo that dates from the 1950s and 60s. The chrome plating is generally excellent with only a faint bit of wear under the foot area. $15
CAMPAGNOLO NUOVO RECORD REAR GEAR 1980, excellent, almost unused. There¹s a light mark to the inside of the cageplate. $65 Also a practically identical one dated 1977 at the same price.

CAMPAGNOLO GRAN SPORT SMALL FLANGE HUBS/MAVIC MA2 27in WHEELS. The hubs are in very good/excellent condition with excellent chrome centres (just a hint of pitting but nothing of any consequence) and excellent Open C skewers. The rims show a little wear but nothing significant and are shod with a pair of very good 27in tyres. A Regina 5-speed freewheel is fitted. $295
BOOKS TOUR DE FRANCE AND ITS HEROES by Graham Watson with a forward by Eddy Merckx and published in 1990. This book details with some truly great photos the years 1978-1989 of the Tour de France with such riders as Bernard Hinault, Greg Lemond, Sean Kelly, Steven Roche and Robert Miller. 176 pages. $15
SUTHERLANDS CYCLE MANUAL 1st EDITION 1974 Sutherland collected together masses of information on the specifications of cycle components - particularly useful are the spoke length charts. Also included are ball bearing sizes, brake drops, chainset and bottom bracket specs and lots, lots more. This first edition has just over 45 pages - later editions are four or five times the size but if you are interested in bikes of the 1970s the component specs are here. $35
GEANTS DE LA ROUTE French Cycle Racing history Full title is La Véridique
Histoire des Géants de la Route by Jean Durry and published in 1973. This is
the standard work in the French language on the history of cycle racing. It
is large format and 246 pages long. It is beautifully illustrated with many
magnificent colour and black and white photographs. Even if you cannot read
French the pictures are worth it. Jean Durry is one of the top French
writers on cycle racing history. This is a wonderful book. $35

LUCAS CYCLE ACCESSORIES CATALOGUE 1959 Excellent copy, 16 pages long. It contains the full range of Lucas cycle accessories - dynamos, lights, bells and cyclometers. $18
CYCLING PLUS Issues 12/13, two early copies. These contain a two part feature on restoring classic bikes (6pp in one issue and 5pp in the other) written by me when I was Technical Editor of Cycling Plus. A 1949 Bates Cantiflex is restored. In C+12 there¹s also a test on three custom steel bikes made by Chas Roberts, Dave Yates and Dave Lloyd and a fantastic expedition to the Himalayas feature in C+13. 82 pages each. $25
