Me again, I have found stuff called Bookbinders webbing to look right, it is
3/4 '' wide with a herringbone down the middle. It comes soaked in starch so
needs to be soaked in hot water and left to dry off but not completely. Use
contact adhesive to fit to the bars. The colour is a natural pale tan, it
will go a golden brown with a coat of shellac. Very hard wearing too.
Carpet edging tape is also good, comes in all different colours.
