There were different models of Huret wingnuts. Early ones came in alloy and - I believe, but don't have any - chrome-plated steel. Nice design, a bit more angular than the famous "Bell" ones.

Later ones gave more room between "wing" and "nut" for modern derailleur mounting. Always made from steel, with thin wing arms and round "finger pads" on the ends. These still are available in France, might be NOS.

High quality wingnuts are nice. No broken or bent hub axles. And with vertical dropouts (and thus no excessive clamping forces), they are easier to open than QRs, especially with cold fingers. ;-) (Yes, I have heard of the myth of an Italian racer not being able to open a wingnut...)
