This is a must for anyone who is interested in seeing or hearing what the
Raleigh factory was like during its heyday in the 1960's. Alan Sillitoe
wrote an excellent book on Nottingham working class life "Saturday Night
and Sunday Morning".
The main character in the story works at the Raleigh factory. The book was
also made into a film starring Albert Finney, Rachel Roberts and Shirley Ann
Field for the added glamour ingredient. Filmed entirely on location in
Nottingham and the Raleigh factory. This is well worth watching or reading.
The author has also written another excellent book on a cycling theme "Down
>From the Hill".
There is lots on the net about the book and film.
Best wishes and be lucky. Michael Butler Huntingdon UK.
