Ignorance, I guess. Damn. I've had the bike since 1978, though I admit I

only service it about once every 10 years. I just had to climb up into the

garage loft with a flashlight and look. It's a Tange model, but the LH cup

is sure labeled 35 x P1. The frame isn't worth retaping, so I hope the BB in

there continues to last.

Morning Jon, Peter and All,

I've had quite a bit of experience with Motobecanes down the years, and always know a good potential exists for finding an older model with a Swiss BB (I still have two Swiss BB's from the "good ole days....").

With that said, my '78 Grand Touring (I bought it from the original owner in 1989) came with a Sugino crankset and an English BB (1.37" x 24). I just replaced the crankset with a Stronglight 99 and a Stronglight BB about 2 weeks ago (trying to make it a bit more French!!).
