" Maybe Maynard was onto something when he wrote the following: "Cycling retro looks wacko to me...I don't get it. What's with guys in their 20s and 30s, in the prime of life, lost in nostalgia?" --Maynard Hershon

20s and 30s? Hmmm... we may all look that age Chuck but most of the CR folks I've met and guys drooling over my PX-10 or Comp GS on the bike paths are just like me... mid '40s bike boomers who saved up their newspaper route money 30 years ago to buy a UE-8 or Super Course or if they were rich boys, a Schwinn Paramount. We still walk into a cycle shop and blithely ask for REG waterbottle cages (remember when you bolted such things to the frame?!), TA cleats and Zeus tubular tyre carriers only to be greeted by a blank stare from the real 20-something behind the counter. Lost indeed.

So, no, I don't expect Lance to win his next TdF on my PX-10. I'll wager he'd have to learn how to use toeclips for starters and find wool jerseys itchy. Simplex and Stronglight aren't going to return his calls for sponsor endorsements either.
