According to the company's advertisement in l'Equipe magazine, the 700 hubs were used for the first time in the 1973 Tour de France, and then officially introduced at the 1973 Paris show. Originally it was a project of two companies: Perrin and Maillard, so the stickers on the hubs read Perrin/Maillard. HF and LF versions were launched at the same time. At least the Peugeot team riders only had the LF version on their bikes in '73.
