If only Simplex gad not used so much black Delrin plastic they might still have been in business. Norris Lockley. Good question Norris, I don't think anyone could have held off Shimano/Suntour.And most top level,NR/SR,Dura Ace,& Superbe/Cyclone riders had no real complaints or need to change out,for the sake of changing out.Top level component sales probably would not save you.But they had low and mid market items. And the Delrin was a bad thing here,Or in a real day in,day out enviroment at least. In the lab it may have been too good to be true, and indeed was. I guess Mavic could still come back with a road group, but that market would be TOUGH to break into.I would like to see it just for variety sake. But Chinese groups are much more likely, and will be good in time,if not immediately. If not for Delrin,Simplex would of certainly lasted longer,I wish it had survived. I wish I had a penny for every Simplex traded out on a new bike for a Suntour in the 1970's. Best regards, Harris Spracher Waynesboro Va.
