I worked at a Maserati dealer, okay, a bike shop that sold Maserati bicycles along with about 30 other brands. The owner ordered a truck load of these bikes, the full product line. Like 8 or 10 models. Mixte bikes, road bikes, etc. I guess the name was the big selling point.

The owner did order one of the top of the line models. the M1 or MT1? It was a decent frame equal to Masi's, Colnagos of the era, and to show off the lugwork, the frame was not painted. Just clearcoated. You could see the brass in the joints like it was a fine pin striping. Really nice lugwork. No file marks anywhere. Everything super smooth and straight. The bike went back however because it was supposed to be equiped with all the then brand new Campy Super Record groupo but it came with stock Nuevo Record and the owner was billed at the super record rate.

I sold a mixte model to my aunt. Converted bars to upright. And since I was wrenching I got stuck trying to make many of these bikes shift. They were about the worst bikes ever. Bottom bracket shells were in crooked, chain lines were way off, they had odd size cotter pins in the cheaper models. We spent more time trying to align frames to keep the chains on and trying to get them to shift.

There was no follow up order.
