Dave, With due respect, (a) some frames display more flair, skill, and so forth in execution than do others; (b) the cr list is in part about tracking down, talking about, restoring, and otherwise loving these frames; (c) if racers' opinions are the appropriate metric, we should all dump our cache of frames and spend them our hard earned cash dollars on modern lw frames that are currently raced; in which case (d) there is no need for a classics list, just the contemporary one you can get by picking up the brochure at the local bike shop.

My guess is that, when a message of the sort that bothered you appeared on the airwaves, you could make more headway if you drop the "what racers think" standard and try something else, such as "maybe the master didn't make this, but look at the handwork, etc, which, by the criteria I value, make this frame classic and collectable."
