Another very good Welsh frame builder that Norris didn't mention was Bryan Warnett of Cardiff. He started building in the 1950's but stopped when Cycling took a nose dive in the UK. Re-started building in the late 70's and made about 60 frames a year. His place was on the Pontcanna Road. He was still building in 1982 when Tony was in full swing. Tony Oliver and Christine Oliver are good friends of mine and we have been on many tours together over the years. Tony and me did the 1980 Tour de France Alp stages on a tandem trike will never forget the descent of the Galibier! I get a mention in his wonderful book my only claim to fame. One of the things that Tony did was to work out a computer programme to cut his tubes to the right length, he use to mitre these on a lathe. Tony was a nuclear physicist for the Electricity Generating Board that's how he came to be on Anglesey (Yns Mon) working at Wylfa nuclear power station. He is a Somerset lad originally. Now working as an environmental photographer.

Best wishes and be lucky. Michael Butler Huntingdon UK.
