Does anyone out there have any dating information for Raleigh Ilkestone frame numbers? I am trying to date SB 7197, so please let me know if you can de-code it or whether you have an Ilkeston frame number of known date. The frame is painted in the Raleigh Panasonic era colours which I think puts it in the 1984-88 range, but I have a feeling that they might have been available in that colour scheme for longer (pearl white with blue front and blue/red/yellow bands).
If you have a bike and don't know the year, but know the original equipment (Super Record or C-Record), that would be a help in dating too.
A register of numbers may exist, but If not, I will be happy to put one together if I get enough responses.
