had the frame stripped and repainted back in '98 by assenmacher. it was relatively inexpensive, and the results are more workmanlike than one would get from a high-end refinisher. the original color was a sparkly candy-apple red, while this is more of a ferrari red - it was the closest i could get going the low-budget route. i was very happy that assenmacher was able to locate a proper set of decals.

also, i started using retro-friction shifters back in '87 just because they were cool & different. they seem to work just as well as regular DT shifters - they make the derailleur move. although i seem to recall that they dont loosen up or slip under load as easily as regular DT shifters.
