Duane: Just from the few that I've seen for sale and had the sense to ask for the serial number, the date codes appear to be at least similar, if not the same. At least I've been operating under that assumption. Oldest one I have a serial for is V#### which was believed to be an early 60s, and would coincide with ~1961. Newest one I have a serial number for was WB900####, which was a Carlton Pro being sold as a 79, which would also make sense. Can't remember right now what I may have seen in between. As with Raleighs, there are bound to be exceptions yet to be discovered.Ooooh, I can hardly wait.

You might also check with the seller or new owner of the early 70s Carlton Pro frame that recently sold on ebay. Or perhaps you ARE the new owner? http://ebay.com/<blah> &rd=1 I didn't have time to chase down a serial number on that one, wasn't my size, but would be interested in hearing what you find out.

Sorry, that's all I know today, and I'm not even certain of that. Larry "perpetually curious and confused" Osborn Morgantown WV
