Hello,

I have a mid-'70s Masi Prestige (Italian) that is currently having a broken dropout replaced. As a result, the bike will be getting a full-repaint to replace it's current non-original paint.

It appears that during the previous repaint it was stripped completely, and the original color is no longer visable. Does anyone know what colors were available on the Prestiges of that era (I think mine is a '75)? Would it be the same as the California GCs of that era?

If anyone has pictures of Prestiges from the '70s, I'd love to see them so that I can pick one of the original colors that I'd most like to have. Also, confirming what decals were present based on your pictures would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. This is my first post, although I've been reading posts on-line for quite some time. Here's my brief bio:

My main interest is in vintage mountain bikes (which are off topic), but I do have three on-topic bikes: '75 Masi Prestige (mentioned above), '80 Masi Gran Criterium (California), and a '80 Peugeot PKN 10 E. The latter two are currently set up as fixed gear bikes. The GC is my "nice" fixie, and the Peugeot is my commuter/beater bike.

Of the three on-topic bikes, the Peugeot sees the most miles. The mileage varies greatly, but in the winter when I commute more often, it's ridden 3-4 times per week. The GC is more of a fair-weather bike, and the Prestige will be as well (once comes back to life).
