Subject: [CR]Poor Packing & Damaged Frames

Yesterday I received the second bike in a month that was damaged in shipping as a result of a poor packing job. I had asked both sellers to use pipe insulation to protect the frame and offered to cover the costs of the materials. The first seller said he would and the second assured me the bike would be protected then takes it to the UPS store to let them pack it. Both bikes arrived without the pipe insulation which would have protected the frames. The handle bars on the Fuso were on top of the top tube and on the Lemond the tubes were unprotected and both wheels taken off the bike. The damage here was from the cassette. I think if the future I will tell the seller I am not interested in the bike/frame unless they can assure me they will use pipe insulation. You can see the damage at

Any thoughts on this?

My faith in the sellers word has been damaged more than the bikes.
