The short form answer to this is, "No." The long form is that Simplex
advertised it as providing greater feel at the lever. It does this by reducing cable
pull at the RD. Wacko and very French. That said I must admit I have one on my
French Randoneuse bike with Simplex fingertips, a Super LJ and 7 speed Sachs
FW and it and they work fine.
