Subject: [CR]New rivets on my Brooks

A while back the three nose rivets failed me and my B-72. They bailed out on me for some reason. It was a saggy saddle after that let me tell you! I posted here and there, and received some advice and several inquiries from people looking for the same thing. I found the place: Wallbike.com. They carry them and if you call them they will ship for a nominal fee. They came fast and they offered advice in setting the rivets. It was tough working in the nose piece of the saddle, but I used an old fashioned soldering iron, one of those things that are a big hunk of iron with a steel handle. I set the rivet in place, and sat the mushrooming end on the iron and hammered the broad flat outside. It worked perfectly. The B-72 used to have all steel rivets, and it now has three lovely copper rivets in front. I am half considering ordering a few more and replacing the little steel ones all around. My Ideal may be a future project as well. Keven Ruf, Seattle.
