Hi David and list Cecil Walker bikes originate from a shop in Melbourne,Victoria.Cecil walker himself was an accomplished rider in the early part of last century and traveled to the US to ride in track races there. The shop is now owned by the Cramer family. The late Morrie Cramer went to work for Cecil Walker as a young man and eventually took over the business.Originally the shop was a little north of its current position in Elizabeth St and was much smaller and I feel had much more character. However it had probably long outgrown the building and they moved down the road about 10 or 12 years ago.It has always been one of THE shops in Melbourne if you were a racing cyclist.I am not entirely sure of the build history of your frame back then.I am not sure if they were built by someone at Cecils or contracted out.I do know that they have frames built by Kevin Wigham ( Paconi Racing Frames ) now but couldn't tell you how long he has been their builder of choice.Since Morrie's son, Anthony now runs the shop I am sure he could give you a more accurate idea of your bikes history and that of the shop Geoff Duke in Melbourne Australia
