Louis,

I rode Super Champion Mixte for a couple of years with OK success, providing you use tubulars and accept some risk. The glue seating area is sparse, so caution. I rode cyclocross tubular tires with mine as well as conventional width road tubulars. I would recommend using rim tape if you are planning to use a Tufo-type tubeless tire (hopefully, not off topic). The rim will suck a Tufo in just like an inner tube would be.

The clinchers that are no longer available for this rim are tires with a J hook bead. Not sure if any are still available.

Hi all,

I've just ordered myself a set of Super Champion Mixte rims from Baron and the gang. From what I have read, they are called "mixte" because they can supposedly be used with both tubulars and clinchers.

Anybody have any experience with these? How do they work with tubulars? How do they work with clinchers? Is there any problem with the bead seating correctly with clinchers?
