I've been wearing and enjoying the lovely Classic Rendzvous jersey (version 2002) nearly every day this summer. Is there any chance of a new version, or another production run of the old design? >>
Hi Aldo & all:
It could happen ... the first time around, I bought 100 jerseys and sold them for $100.00@ to CR members after 2 years. The margins were slim and the sales slow so it was not a "positive cash flow" enterprise. I am not crazy about tying up $8K + - in these turbulent economic times.
Now, with the dollar even lower relative to the Euro, I imagine they would be quite a bit pricier. Maybe Jan Johnson if she is reading this could tell me the current cost for such a project.
If we were to do this project, my inclination would be to do another color variety to make each edition more special. I do think that those who purchased one of the first editions jerseys were very pleased with the garment, no?
I also was interested that we have 1000 vintage buffs on this list but it took 2 years to sell 100 jerseys.. Seems like more folks would have stepped up. We could order fewer garments but it would affect the price dramatically.
Comments? Any venture capitalists ready to step up?
