      Take it apart and GREASE everything. Repeat: EVERYTHING. In other words: where ever mettle touches mettle. That's the rule. And STOP tightening!!!! Repeat as needed; aprox 1X per year depending on amt. ridden. Then ride more. Pergolizzi Italy

My GB bars and stem (1972 Raleigh) have suddenly started creaking under moderate loads. Sounds like it's coming from the bar clamp bolt. I've tightened it about as much as I dare and no change.

Any solution? Does the creaking indicate imminent failure?
