Don't know how far back they went, but they were in the Zeus catalogs from Zeus Cyclery (in New York?) in the early 80's. Mostly lower end than the Zeus stuff, at least the Criterium/2000 stuff, but not that terrible. I always thought they were Spanish, but I've more recently heard Roto might have been Italian-made.
