I've also been curious about what year Masi's spacing changed, and if indeed the change happened at the same time in US and Italy... I always assumed it was later than '74 because my '76 Sutherland's (2nd Ed) makes no mention at all of 126 spacing, only of accomodating a 6-speed freewheels by moving axle spacers and re-dishing the wheel.
