I believe Heiden rode with 7-11 only rather briefly, maybe only one or two seasons, shortly after his great Olympic skating triumphs. I think his presence was mostly to gain publicity for the team and 7-11 Corp. He was a competent but ordinary pro cyclist.

I saw the 7-11 team at the Chicago Cycling Classic in 1980, but I don't believe that Heiden was with the team. I recall seeing the Stetina brothers. I think John Howard skipped the race, but I believe Sean Kelly was there.

I saw the crit around the Art Institute. It was won by a certain Greg Lemond.
