Hi all, i've had no replies to my last request about this item, so I
thought I might try again. I have gone thru all my NR outer cage plates,
all but one are identical. All the ones that are identical are a natural
alloy finish, the odd one out has either a chrome plate finish or a
chrome like annodized finish, another slight variation that is also
different to the others are 1) the fact that all the ribs have a slightly
thinner dimension to the natural finish items & 2) the bottom hoop comes
in more square to the centre vertical rib. All have the steel nut moulded
in as well. I suspect it may have been for the 1st version SR RD, I have
looked at my #17 catalog and it gives the same part # to this item, but
thats no indication either way going by previous part #'s I have
encountered over the years of my dealings in SR RD etc. Or maybe it was
one of the last items before they changed to the normal outer cage plate
#7119010/1119003.
It has been quite a few years since I owned a 1st generation SR RD, so I
cannot comment, maybe someone out there knows what I have, would like to
know, please reply to the group in case someone else out there would like
to know. I do have a pic that may help, please ask & I will send, its not
