Sheldon: I know of the skinny adjuster you mention. It would fit into the loop weldment on the seat stays. Thanks for indicating possible source for finding one of those wee adjusters. Lose that, and all is lost.
Raleigh frame is shorter so, does not have the loop weldment (Insufficient width between seat stays to accommodate loop).

Adjuster only in front. If memory serves, they usually had no
adjuster in back. The extra skinny adjusting barrel that was
(uselessly) supplied with Simplex down tube shifters would fit into
the rear housing stop to give you a bit of adjustment for the rear
brake.
