The Woods has a large body like a Schraeder but the pump screws on to a
thread the same size as the Presta thread. In older tyres with Woods valves,
there is usually a reinforcing piece of steel seated inside the tyre curved to
match the shape of the rim. When did the Presta come in? Obviously pre-war but
when?
