I thought I had read here before that the TA Cyclotourist type crank arms with the modern cotterless design was not introduced until the early 1970's after a brief experiment with the unique "cotter-like cotterless" TA design. Whether or not that is a triple, it would seem to place the current TA arm design as early as 1961. Anyone have definite information on when the Cyclotourist type arms were introduced?

Image is from the 1961 Giro Lombardia, where Anquetil placed 17th. So much for "friends don't let friends use triples", or the more pointed "triples are for cripples". Viva Anquetil!
