Hey Dave, et al, I have a Campy seat post that is very similar to the Gerber panto post, but I can't tell if it is actually the same or not. Dave is receiving some PICs of it, installed on the 1981 Colnago that it is original to. The bike is a Colnago built replica of a Colnago built USSR Olympic winning bike from 1980 in Moscow (according to Alex@colnago.com). I do not yet know which event it won ... but I'd sure like to find out! The taper of the post is wider at the rear, than the front. You all might notice some weird stuff on the rest of the bike ... lemme know if you would like to see all of the PICs. Actually, the post was specifically discussed when the Colnago was first being offered on Ebay. Then, discussed again after I acquired it, and Ben Kamenjas was kind enough to post photos of it ... many of you will remember this. I believe that the discussion touched on the idea that Campy supplied some builders with this limited run aero / tapered version of the Super Record post, for special projects. Anyone else have more?

Note that it appears to be just an "aero" C-record seat-post with fancy pantographing that came in a SR box. Au contraire. I have seen this type before. While i am not exactly sure when C-record showed-up, (perhaps 86), I first saw this SR seatpost appear in 1984. Obviously from the ebay posting, it appeared on Gerber bikes. I have also seen it on top-end Colnago and Bianchi, 1984 models, with the rest of the bike being "standard" SR. However, the only thing I find "super-record" about it, is the seat cluster, and that it was made by Campy. Have others seen this "SR" seatpost before and perhaps know a better history of it? cheers- Dave Anderson Cut Bank MT
