I got a pair of Mafacs from Baron's Fire (er ... Spring) Sale. The hoods fit perfectly and all the other parts look like they are interchangeable with Zeus Alfas. So those levers are rehabilitated.

Thanks to everyone that helped.

I had a pair of Zeus "Super Alpha" brakes on my Zeus Competition bicycle in college. They came with half-hoods like Mafacs did. I replaced them with the full-gum-hoods-with-adjusters that were available for Mafac Competition brakes and they fit perfectly.

I suspect that Mafac half-hoods fit too. Mafac full and half-hoods may be hard to find, but they're easier than Alfa hoods.

Were there ever levers of the same designs whose hoods could be used? Original equipment would be nice but equivalents will do.
