how much would you be willing to pay for a raleigh track bike in team colors with chrome head lugs. full campy, fiamme rims, cinelli bars and stem. I've got a chance to buy one at 400.00 but need to know if this is a good price. +++++++++++++++++++++ If it were something I really wanted for myself (right size, right condition, and I really could see myself riding it), I'd probably buy it. 10 years from now, will it matter exactly what I paid? But, if it were just to resell, even if it would seem like there is more upside potential than downside risk, who really would be the customer for it? Fork drilled so it could be ridden with a brake? Really stiffly built for sprints, or something you might enjoy riding on the road, too?

So, and I'm not recommending this strategy to others, I pretty much quit buying bikes to "flip." Once in a while, I'll buy something that really appeals to me, and ride it enough to find out whether it wants to stay with me a long time, like the pair of Austro-Daimlers a few years ago. Really top end, and a very attractive price. After a while I found I didn't like to ride the Ultima SuperLeicht, so it is gone. The other (Vent Noir) I still ride, but it may go away, the space in the garage and my affection having been taken by a Hetchins. Maybe. I still like that black frame with the black first gen D-A gruoppo.
