[CR] Purves No.1 Frame Stuart G Purves was a giant amongst Britains lightweight builders. In the short time he was making frames he established a huge reputation as one of Londons and Britains top frame makers. builder. The small business was located at 17 Streatham Hill, London, S.W.2., He was the older brother of Jimmy Purves of the Vegetarian C.A.C. who was a post war, R.T.T.C 24-hour champion, and who also died at the early age of 41. It is generally thought that the firm only survived until 1955. He made solos and tandems in either welded lugless form or traditional brazed frames in two lug styles Number 1 and Number 2.
