A lot of miles (unquantifiable) logged on Record cranks, no failures. Seen one broken one on a table of parts that a racer/student union bike mechanic at WWU had. Pedal eye, he said it broke while he was racing. He was a big strong looking guy if that matters.

Count me as another who never breaks anything. Only thing I can think of I've ever broken is a Record rear axle. I'm another strong believer in the "riding style" theory. Some people break mechanical things: bikes, cars etc, others seldom do. I don't know why.
