Everyone loves a theme.

The theme bike for this year's Velo Rendezvous IV is going to be California Custom Frames of the 1970s. Some of the bikes that I think would fit this theme (looks like a long list doesn't it?):

•Caylor (Modesto) •Celmins (Santa Barbara) •Sam Cotton (Los Angeles) •Brian Decker (Berkeley) •Rolland Della Santa (Reno) •Greg Diamond (Santa Barbara) •Mark DiNucci (Morgan Hill) •Albert Eisentraut (Oakland) •Craig Elliott (Los Altos) •Hugh Enochs (Woodside) •Dana Fennimore (Chico) •Bruce Gordon (Petaluma) •Griffon (Los Angeles) •Bill Holland (Spring Valley) •Dean Hovey (Los Altos) •Peter Johnson (Menlo Park) •Lighthouse (Santa Cruz) •Jeff Lindsey (Chico) •Keith Lippy (Encinitas) •Ed Litton (Oakland) •Jeff Lyon (San Jose) •Charley Martin (Redwood City) •Jim Merz (Morgan Hill) •Bernie Mikkelsen (Oakland) •Don Millburger (Concord) •Ron Miller (Nevada City) •Dave Moulton (Temecula) •Clark Murphy (San Jose) •Oxford (Santa Cruz) •Paragon (Los Altos) •Fred Parr (Westchester) •Chris Pauley (Santa Barbara) •Platano (San Diego) •Jeff Richman (Santa Rosa) •Tom Ritchey (Palo Alto) •Dale Saso (San Jose) •Saturn (Davis) •A.D. Stump (Santa Monica) •Redbush (Costa Mesa) •Wizard (Huntington Beach) •Wolf (Huntington Beach) •if you can think of any others or have spelling corrections...

Any of the above bikes from the 1970s would be a fairly rare bike today, so if you have one please bring it. And of course, you don't have to have one of the above for the show, any vintage lightweight will qualify for the show.

Judging of the bikes will be done by the entrants; their first, second and third choice for best bike at the show will be tallied. Any criteria for judging the bikes can be used, however you cannot vote for your own bike. There will also be awards for Best North American, Best British, Best Italian, Best French, Best Lugs, Best Paint, Best Restoration, Best Original, Best Neo-Classic and Most Personality to be decided by a group of judges.
