I had a few sets of 27 X 1 1/4 Mavic Mod Es to measure. They were 20 mm wide by 12.4 mm deep. That was the same for early unanodized types and a circa 1982 pair that were anodized and also had a G20 label.

MA2 measurements please?

I doubt if different extrusions were used for 27 or 700C.

The Mod E rims were so impressive when they first came out. The corresponding Michelin Elan tires (thanks for pointing out the connection Chuck) were a fragile bust I stopped carrying in the shop.
