I'm also one of those who commute regularly on Sewups on one of my track bikes. The roads in this area are probably average, but there is a fair amount of glass on the bike trails. I've been using the lowest cost Tufo tubulars (the S22), and keep detailed mileage records. For a sample size of 10 Rear tires, I have averaged ~2300 miles each - that's rear wheels. Had a couple of glass cuts at slightly over 1000 miles on 2 tires, but also exceeded 3000 miles on a couple also. Have averages 5000+ on the fronts. The S22 is made in both a tubular and a "tubular clincher." I use the standard tubular. They also come with a red sidewall and with a tan sidewall. The tan looks much more appropriate on a classic bike.
