Ya know... since we are talking aluminum threads here, there would be no issues with threading an English threaded OMAS headset onto an Italian threaded steel steerer tube other than the stamping "English" instead of "Italian" on the parts you can't see when the headset is assembled on the bike... I won't tell anyone what you did.
