On the top of the pedal. Have a look at the second pic:

You'll notice it on the pedal. On the cranks it was on the arm's outer face.

As with many of the AX/EX parts, the only difference was the mark cast into the part. That and perhaps a different colour strap. I seem to recall the AX pedals had a blue web/nylon strap (somebody correct me if I'm wrong here).
