I was never wild about the half hoods either. Back in the 70's I found a pair of black Mafac full hoods but I don't remember if they were a generic Mafac item or a replacement for a specific set of brakes. Whatever they were, they fit the Racers fine and had a nice Mafac logo on the sides. They wore a lot better than gum hoods and were still supple when I sold the bike a few years ago. I only saw a few sets back then so I guess they may have been a pretty rare item. I vaguely remember someone telling me they also came in green.
