How would one go about watching for vintage recumbents for sale? Preferably British, preferably a Fred Grubb? Though a Mochet wouldn't be hard to take.

Amen, one of the worst ideas ever, though the USS versions weren't bad.

Still a lot of poorly designed ones on the market, but more good ones coming out every year.

Even with North Road bars, I had shoulder and hand pain riding my '58 Jack Taylor on the 5 mile short route at this years ABCE ride. Yet I can stay on one of my bents all day. Another advantage is a heart rate about 20 beats slower for the same perceived effort.

If I can't find a vintage 'bent, plan "B" is to build one with lugs and vintage components.

That too.
