I'm not surprised in the least - that's only the second one I've *ever* seen for sale, and it's in way better condition than the other one was. How many have you owned? Zip, nada, bupkis for me.....
Plus, it's being sold by a very knowledgeable, known collector with exquisite taste, so the sky's almost the limit, I think.

I am, needless to say, stunned..and the auction's not over yet.
And people laughed at me over that De Rosa frame. 'course, this derailleur is much more rare than that frame, I guess.
