When I went to the great 2004Velo Rendezous in Pasedena, CA a speaker spoke on saturday about the life and career of Zimmerman. A great bicycle racer whose fame occured in 1890's. Then after he spoke Ted Ersnt spoke. Ted is an another bicycle racer we know about. He spoke about his racing times in the 40's and 50's. Ted mentioned he has a lot of racing imformation at home and needs to be sorted and filed correctly. On sunday Ted and I talked and since have emailed each other on my days in Detroit in the 50's and riding with Mike Walden Woverein Bicycle Club and Ted's racing in Detroit in the same time period and of course knowing Mike Walden.

Now to my point. there is heck of a lot of material out there and people to talk to. Is it possible to start a bicycle racing in the USA were interviews of people like Ted and others and all the material they have can be scanned into a computer before it is LOST FOREVER. Just a ten minute write up of past and current people who raced and played major roles in the US bicycle scene would be great. I do not have the computer skills to put a great web site together but I would help were I can Charles Nighbor Walnut Creek, CAzvous
